Abstract In this paper I critically engage with Pauline Kleingeld’s ‘volitional self-contradiction’ interpretation of Kant’s formula universal law. make three remarks: first, seek to clarify what it means for a contradiction be volitional as opposed logical; second, suggest that her might need closer Korsgaard’s ‘practical contradiction’ than she thinks; and third, more work needs done explain how self-contradiction generates both ‘contradiction in conception’ will.’
